In the latest version of SAN HQ 2.1, there is a new feature that proactively checks for updates on EqualLogic’s Support site.
This is directly from the SAN HQ User Guide, page 2-12:
The Updates Notification function allows you to control notifications from Dell about recent information available for EqualLogic SAN solutions, including available updates for the SAN HeadQuarters, Host Integration Toolkits, and firmware along with relevant news articles.
When you open SAN HQ, at the bottom right you will be notified when there are updates available 
Click on Help – Check for Updates 
You will see what updates are available and you can also change the interval when SAN HQ checks for updates
